US SPEAKER TALKS ABOUT CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS

June 11-13, 2007

The United States Embassy hosted a three day speaker program on “Class Action Lawsuits” with Attorney Timothy E. Eble.  Mr. Eble 's  presentations focused on such topics  as the advantages of class action suits to facilitate access to justice when there are numerous injured parties, types of cases that can be filed, how the injured parties are notified of the lawsuit , and other related issues. The programs took place in Buenos Aires and La Plata with the cooperation of, among other institutions, Libra Foundation, ARGENJUS, the Superior Tribunal of Justice of the City of Buenos Aires, the Schools of Law of Buenos Aires, San Andres, and Catholic Universities, and the Federal Training Network of the Argentine Judiciary.

Timothy E. Eble Biography

Timothy E. Eble is an attorney licensed in Ohio, Kentucky and South Carolina. He graduated from Northern Kentucky University’s Salmon P. Chase College of Law in 1981. His practice includes mass torts, product liability, complex and class action litigation. He has been involved in class action litigation including consumer fraud, pesticides, carcinogens in the workplace, insurance, mass torts, drugs, deceptive trade practices, violations of the WARN Act, and environmental pollution.

He also serves as a consultant to other lawyers in various class actions and on the law of attorney fee awards in such cases. His trial experience includes trying cases in the state or federal courts of Illinois, North Dakota, Washington, Colorado, Florida, Texas, Alabama, Indiana, and Ohio. He lectures regularly on class action issues at continuing legal education seminars. He has also served as a guest lecturer at law schools on the topic of class action litigation.

He has published in the field of federal practice and procedure, mass torts, and class action litigation. He is also a contributing author to Consumer Class Actions published by the National Consumer Law Center. The Federal Class Action Practice Manual - Internet Edition on this site was authored by and is maintained by Mr. Eble.
