Ambassador Martinez Meets with Minister Julio De Vido

On November 11th, Ambassador Vilma Martinez met at her residence with Minister of Federal Planning, Public Investment and Services, Julio De Vido. This was the first opportunity to meet with the Minister as part of her round of courtesy calls she has been making after presenting her credentials to President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner on Oct. 19th.
"Minister De Vido and I agreed that we would like to have more U.S. investment in Argentina to generate new jobs for Argentines, and we have agreed to work together to try to do it," said Ambassador Vilma Martinez at the end of her first meeting with the Minister of Federal Planning, Public Investment and Services, Julio de Vido.
The Ambassador and the Minister talked about ways to work together to deepen economic ties between Argentina and the United States and to increase the amount of U.S. companies operating in Argentina. Currently there are 155,000 jobs created by 500 U.S. Companies.
"We are ready to work with Minister De Vido and other government Argentine officials on projects that benefit our countries," said the Ambassador.
