Cultural Office
The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy Buenos Aires (PAS) promotes institutional, cultural and educational ties between the U.S. and Argentina as a way of improving understanding of U.S. society and culture.
The Cultural Office, in collaboration with the Press Office, works closely with Argentine institutions in organizing lectures, seminars (including Digital Video Conferences), workshops, exhibits and performances by American experts, academics, writers and artists. Our primary activities are: Speakers and Specialists, Exchanges, Facilitative Assistance and Education Programs.

Speakers and Specialists
U.S. Speakers and Specialist programs provide opportunities and fora for Argentines to meet with their U.S. counterparts and exchange viewpoints on subjects of common interest. Through a variety of seminars, conferences (including Digital Video Conferences), workshops, and roundtable discussion events, U.S. speakers explain U.S. experiences of professional importance and relevance PAS arranges these programs in Buenos Aires and in other cities throughout Argentina.
U.S. Speakers chosen to participate in these programs represent a wide variety of private and public institutions, including non-governmental organizations (NGOs), universities, think tanks, and local, state and national government offices. Speakers and specialists are invited by the Embassy to share their views and analyses.
Exchanges
PAS coordinates exchange programs for Argentine individuals and institutions to increase mutual understanding through communication at the personal and professional levels.
Facilitative Assistance
The Cultural Office offers assistance to Argentine institutions seeking information and links with U.S. institutions for a wide variety of projects and programs that promote mutual understanding.
Education Programs
PAS interacts with Argentina's national and private universities through the Fulbright Program, U.S. Speaker and Academic Specialist programs, and Summer Institutes for educators. More than 5,000 Argentines are studying in the U.S. at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
