AMBASSADOR WAYNE ANNOUNCES WINNING TEAM IN “VISIT USA” CONTEST

Ambassador Wayne announced the names of the winners of the “Visit USA” contest during a ceremony on July 11 at the Embassy. The contest was part of a series of activities to promote travel to the U.S. and to demystify the visa process during “Visit USA Week.” The Embassy opened the contest to communications and advertising students from different universities who were asked to design and present a publicity campaign to promote travel to the United States.
A jury panel made up of Embassy officers and a representative of the public relations firm Burson-Marsteller, chose the winning Project submitted by Mercedes Velasco Suárez (from San Martín de Los Andes), Mariana Simpson (from Bánfield, Province of Buenos Aires) and Sol Erdociain (from Tandil) -- all of them students at Catholic University in Buenos Aires.
The prizes presented to each member of the winning team by Ambassador Wayne consisted of a personal computer and certificates of achievement. The other teams that submitted projects will receive a purchase order for books related to their field of study.
