STATEMENT BY SECRETARY CLINTON
Argentina's 200th National Day

On behalf of the people of the United States, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to the people of Argentina as you celebrate your 200th National Day on May 25. Over the past two centuries, Argentina has been a good friend in the Americas, dedicated to promoting democracy, regional stability, and global security.

Our countries are founded on a common legacy, based on the ideals of individual liberty and popular government, and we remain linked by our shared responsibility to build a stable, inclusive community of the Americas. We are deeply appreciative of the many years of cooperation and mutual respect between our two countries, and look forward to our continued collaborative efforts.

As you celebrate Argentina's bicentennial this year, the people of the United States send their sincere congratulations and best wishes.
