Ambassador Martinez Visits Cerros Colorados

Ambassador Vilma Martinez, on November 18th, visited the renovation project of Portezuelo Grade, Duke Energy, Argentina, which is part of the hydroelectic project Cerros Colorados, that produces 479 megawatts. Ambassador Martinez toured the project alongside Neuquen Govenor Jorge Sapag, the President of Duke Engergy Argentina, Ing. Guillermo Fiad, the Director of Environment and Health Operations of Duke Energy Argentina, Ing. Gustavo Vanucci, and the President of Duke Energy International, Andrea Bertone.
“It gives me great pleasure to see this excellent example of a U.S. company that works in Argentina and invests in a way that is beneficial to Argentine citizens,” said the Ambassador during her visit.
Duke Energy has operated in Argentina since 1993 and has 105 employees throughout the country. In additional, Duke has various Corporate Social Responsibility programs in the Neuquen province, such as the program that introduces high school students to technical aspects of generating electricity and Project Dino, which is recognized globally. Ambassador Martinez remarked, “ In the United States, the best companies promote a culture that cares for their employees and is committed to the community. I am glad that Duke has also assumed that responsibility here in Neuquen province.”
