March 18, 2009
Aaron Brickman
The US Embassy hosted Aaron Brickman, Director of the Invest in America office of the Department of Commerce office in Washington, DC, on March 18. The visit to Argentina was part of a multi-country trip to the region for Mr. Brickman who represents the United States government's investment promotion program. In addition to complementing individual state government efforts to promote investment, Invest in America focuses on outreach to foreign investors to promote the United States as a place to invest. Mr. Brickman made a presentation to the International Trade Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce, and met with other business association representatives and government officials who may encounter questions regarding investment in the United States.
“In these tough economic times, it is important for national, state and local governments to help investors make appropriate business decision on where to invest,” commented Embassy Minister Counselor Tom Kelly after a meeting with Mr. Brickman. “The office of Invest in America can help Argentine firms by acting as an ombudsman in Washington, D.C., by working with appropriate federal government agencies to answer potential investor questions and address any concerns they have,” added Mr. Kelly.
Invest in America regularly engages U.S. government stakeholders to provide recommendations to improve the U.S. investment climate. Invest in America is a federal complement to existing U.S. state and local efforts to promote inward investment.
