U.S. Charge' D'Affaires Thomas Kelly Meets with Economy Minister Amado Boudou

Chargé d’Affaires Thomas Kelly met on August 24 with Economy Minister Amado Boudou at the Ministry of Economy.
“The Minister and I talked about the important efforts of the G-20 to deal with the global economic crisis and pending measures to restore confidence, jobs, balanced and sustainable growth. Argentina and the United States have been working closely in the G-20 to overcome the consequences of the global financial crisis. We also wish to continue to work together so that both countries can advance their bilateral agenda,” –said Chargé d’Affaires Kelly.
Mr. Kelly told the Minister that the Embassy team is ready to work in those areas that will make the bilateral relation even more fluid and productive. Also, as President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner’s is about to travel to Pittsburgh, United States, to attend the G-20 Summit, Mr. Kelly and the Minister also talked about the preparations for the trip and the summit agenda. Mr. Kelly and the Minister also tackled the importance of strengthening exchanges and communication at all economic and financial administration levels as well as promoting bilateral contacts among government members and visits in both directions.
During the meeting, Mr. Kelly and the Minister also reviewed the main points of the economic agenda shared by Argentina and the United States like the common interest of working together to find a solution to the Argentine debt to the Paris Club. Mr. Kelly and the Minister also highlighted the importance of keeping an open dialogue at bilateral, regional and international levels.
