Binational Centers Conference

The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs (WHA), the Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs offices will host a BNC (Binational Center) Conference in Washington DC from August 11 to 12, 2009.  BNCs are essential public diplomacy partners in WHA, and both BNC executives and academic directors have been invited.   The main objectives of this conference are to reinforce WHA’s strong partnership with BNCs and to showcase the outstanding work of these BNCs with senior official in the Department, Congress and civil society.  Fifty representatives from Latina American BNCs will participate.  The US Embassy in Argentina invited six BNC executive and academic directors (Buenos Aires, Mendoza, Santiago del Estero, Salta, Cordoba and Santa Fe) to participate in this conference.
