BNC Meeting in Mendoza

With the support of the U.S. Embassy Public Affairs section, the Binational Center in Mendoza, AMICANA, was able to host the 10th Annual BNC Academic Directors Meeting on August 12 and 13.  Representatives from the academic departments of 14 BNCs attended the conference.  During this event, participants shared their experiences and exchanged ideas in the field of English Language Teaching, the main source of income for the BNCs.  They also discussed and approved the current ECCE (a common exam for children attending BNCs in Argentina designed and administered annually.) Besides the academic sessions, there was a presentation addressed by a local psychologist on the new challenges for teachers in regards to the different students profile in today’s social context. Attendees agreed on the importance of this annual encounter, which allows them to share best practices and reflect on their daily teaching activities.  They all praised and recognized the Embassy constant support to the BNC Academic Departments for enabling this meeting to take place every year.
