Scholar-Athlete Games June 24 - July 4, 2011

The concept of the Scholar-Athlete Games is based upon the best of the Olympic ideal. The Olympics grew out of the belief that sport can be a force for understanding and friendship among athletes and among nations.  The Scholar-Athlete Games add a new dimension to that concept by strategically placing scholar-athletes on teams with students from other states and countries, thus requiring them to develop teamwork with a very diverse group of people.

What Will Students Do?

The Games will bring together approximately 1,000 young scholars in secondary school and who are talented in athletics or the fine arts. These young leaders will come to the University of Hartford to partake in a tribute to personal achievement and cultural diversity.
