U.S. SPEAKER DISCUSSES LABOR MEDIATION
October 11-14, 2006
U.S. Speaker Arthur Pearlstein visited Argentina October 11-14 to discuss “Strategies and Tactics in Labor Mediation.” Mr. Pearlstein, a graduate of Harvard Law School, is a Professor of Law and the Director of the Werner Institute for Negotiation and Dispute Resolution at Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, Nebraska. He previously served as the general counsel and director of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and International Programs at the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS) and has taught at Catholic University School of Law and at Pepperdine. He gave lectures and discussions with the National Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the Association of Judges, the Public Bar Association, the National Trade Union of Employees and local NGOs.

Arthur Pearlstein Biography
Arthur Pearlstein is Professor of Law and Director of the Werner Institute for Negotiation and Dispute Resolution at Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, Nebraska. A graduate of Harvard Law School (J.D.), Haverford College (B.A.) and the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University (Masters in Dispute Resolution), Mr. Pearlstein previously served as the general counsel and director of ADR and International Programs at the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS) and has taught at Catholic University School of Law and at Pepperdine. At FMCS, he spearheaded a national initiative aimed at developing the state of the art in the design, promotion, and implementation of conflict management systems in the workplace.
