AMBASSADOR WAYNE TALKS AT ARBA CONFERENCE

Ambassador Wayne and Spanish Ambassador Rafael Estrella opened on December 11 an ARBA (Revenue Service of the Province of Buenos Aires) Seminar on Fiscal Federalism and The Tax Compliance Culture. The Ambassador congratulated ARBA Director Santiago Montoya for his impact on the tax culture in the province of Buenos Aires.
“In the United States we have done a good job in matters of fiscal efficiency by making it easy to comply with,” Ambassador Wayne said. “We have been successful by using all the ways possible to make people aware of their duties; including the use of technology to facilitate presentation of tax returns; particularly through promotion of on-line tax return filing and through the creation of the Office of the Tax-Payer’s Ombudsman to provide for solutions to tax-payer’s problems in one step. As said by Oliver Wendell Holmes, one of our most prestigious U.S. Supreme Court Judges, “Taxes are what we have to give in return for being a civilized society. I welcome ARBA efforts to strengthen the tax compliance culture in the province of Buenos Aires and thank you again for this invitation.” concluded Ambassador Wayne.
