Ambassador Wayne donated books, computers, printers and a year’s worth of Internet access to Apoyo Escolar San Francisco de Asís, an organization that supports children from the neighborhoods of La Cava and San Cayetano in Buenos Aires’ northern suburbs.

The Ambassador and his wife, Pamela, visited the institution on Wednesday, December 13 and chatted with some of the 80 children aged 6-14 who attend Apoyo Escolar in the town of Béccar every day.

“This is important both for the United States and for Argentina. Helping Argentine school children is one of our priorities,” said Ambassador Wayne. Apoyo Escolar relies heavily on donations and public and private contributions to carry out its mission of helping families in one of Buenos Aires’ poorest areas keep their children in school.
