EMBASSY HOSTS U.S. SPEAKER ON DIGITAL LIBRARIES AND THE USE OF NEW TECHNOLOGY
April 14-17, 2007
Dr. Ann Carlson Weeks, Professor at the College of Information Studies, University of Maryland, will participate at the Second Ibero-American Congress on Library Science in Buenos Aires from April 14-17. Dr. Weeks will speak on digital libraries, focusing on her participation in the design of the International Children’s Digital Library (http://www.icdlbooks.org/) and its goal to bridge language and cultural gaps using children’s literature.
Dr. Weeks will also participate in several round tables to share her experience on American libraries and new information formats in digital spaces. The Congress is held during the Buenos Aires Book Fair, which is among the largest and most visited book fairs in the region.
