Chargé d'Affaires Thomas P. Kelly met on August 19 with Dina Siegel Vann, Director of the American Jewish Committee’s Latino and Latin American Institute. During the meeting, Mr. Kelly and Ms. Siegel Vann discussed the activities developed by the institution in Argentina and abroad.

"Both Argentina and the United States have strong, vibrant Jewish communities who are dedicated to promoting the cause of religious freedom and tolerance through civil discourse. We very much appreciated the visit of the American Jewish Committee and the opportunity to learn about what they are doing to strengthen ties between our countries," said Mr. Kelly.
About the AJC:  Established in 1906 by a small group of American Jews deeply concerned about pogroms aimed at Russian Jews, the American Jewish Committee (AJC) determined that the best way to protect Jewish populations in danger would be to work towards a world in which all peoples were accorded respect and dignity.

Over 100 years later, AJC continues its efforts to promote pluralistic and democratic societies where all minorities are protected. AJC is an international think tank and advocacy organization that attempts to identify trends and problems early - and take action. Their key areas of focus include:  combating anti-Semitism and all forms of  bigotry; promoting pluralism and shared democratic values; supporting Israel's quest for peace and security; advocating for energy independence; and strengthening Jewish life.
