As I Lay Dying Brings Electrifying Sound to Buenos Aires
March 4, 2009
Grammy Award-nominated metal rockers As I Lay Dying (AILD) brought their metal-based sound music to Buenos Aires for the first time at Teatrito on March 3rd. The third stop in their South America tour treated hundreds of fans to songs off their latest critically-acclaimed album, "The Ocean Between Us," for which they won the "Ultimate Metal God" award from MTV2's "All That Rocks" special in 2007. Lead singer Tim Lambesis thanked the audience for their passion and promised to bring AILD back next year with a new album release. After the show, twelve teenagers from the Quilmes Potencialidades recreation center met the band and posed for photos with the band members. A young drummer expressed her admiration for AILD's non-stop energy and beat, and was glad she discovered AILD through the U.S. Embassy's Music Ambassador program. Deputy Chief of Mission Tom Kelly and Vice Consul Sofia Khilji introduced the band to the youth group and explained the band's background to the new fans.
