AMBASSADOR WAYNE CONGRATULATES AFS EXCHANGE PROGRAM SCHOLARS

Ambassador Wayne met on May 29 with nine Argentine students who will be traveling to the United States and Europe under the American Field Service student exchange program. The trip of these outstanding students is funded by U.S. companies Cargill, Esso and SC Jonson. A participant from the city of Rafaela, Santa Fe will also travel to the United States thanks to a scholarship granted by the local government of Rafaela.

The Ambassador and the students talked about the importance of exchanges in education. Also present at the event were members of the companies, Mayor of Rafaela Omar Perotti and AFS- Argentina delegates.

“Student exchanges are very important for young people’s education. The experience of living and knowing other cultures lays the foundation for the development of peace ties between countries and mutual understanding between their citizens.” –said Ambassador Wayne.
