Access Scholarship Students Volunteer at 7th Annual EducationUSA Fair
September 3, 2009
On September 3, 2009 enthusiastic Access Scholarship students from the Buenos Aires binational center (ICANA) came to volunteer at the EducationUSA fair organized by the BNC. ICANA Academic Director, Vivian Morghen, explained that even with short notice, the students eagerly volunteered their time in an effort to support the event. To the BNC’s delight, within 2 days, 40 students had signed up.
The students assisted with checking in attendees and also served as greeters. Upon competition of their volunteer responsibilities, Access students had the opportunity to speak with representatives from the 15 American universities who were present. This event also served as an opportunity for Access students who attend Access classes at different times and locations to meet each other.
The EducationUSA Fair is an annual event organized by the Education USA Advising Centers in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru- all affiliated with the U.S. State Department, encouraging higher education in the USA. This event was made possible by the committed support of the entire ICANA team, including their dedicated Access students.
