Cultural Attaché Neal Murata met with a group of 6 dancers from the Colon Theater’s Superior Institute of Art who will be traveling to New York City to participate in the School of American Ballet’s Summer Course. The Argentine dancers were selected through an international audition held by the School of American Ballet at the Colon Theater in Buenos Aires last November.  A total of 10 Argentine dancers were selected to participate in the course.

The School of American Ballet is the official dance academy of the New York City Ballet.  The summer course will be held June 27 – July 30, 2011.  The dancers will have the opportunity to learn from many alumni and current members of the world-famous New York City Ballet.

Cultural Attaché Neal Murata congratulated the young dancers and their parents and teachers on their hard work and for having been selected to represent their country at such a prestigious dance academy.  He also congratulated the Colon Theater’s Superior Institute of Art and the Colon Theater’s Foundation for giving these young dancers the opportunity to participate in the School of American Ballet’s Summer Course.
